18 Favourites in 2018

Wow. I can’t believe it’s the last day of 2018! It has been a weird year so it sort of feels like a relief but at the same time, I can’t believe another year has gone by. To celebrate the year of twenty eighteen, I thought I’d put together a list of all my favourites from beauty items to events. These are my 18 favourites in 2018!

Movie: Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. You laugh, you cry, you laugh some more, what’s not to love?!

Beauty brand: Lush. Their bath products have always been my go to but this year I tried a lot more from them. My favourite skincare product of the year is actually from Lush as well! I just can’t get enough. If there’s one brand I think you should try in 2019 it would be Lush. Especially their hair masks, shampoos and eye cream.

Event: I love me. A beauty expo in Helsinki, Finland. I go there every year but this year I finally had the time to actually sit down and enjoy some of the talks and panels they offer. This year I also discovered some new beauty brands which I can’t wait to tell you more about in 2019!

People I met: Sam and Nic Chapman. The best part of the I love me expo! Sam and Nic were doing a live makeup tutorial right before our eyes and I had the chance to witness that. I learned so much during that one hour and feel much more confident doing my makeup now. After the tutorial, I got to chat with them a little bit too! Definitely a fangirl moment.

Tech: Beats Powerbeats 3 wireless headphones. Life-changing! That’s all I’m gonna say.

Healthy habit: Started going to the gym. Going to the gym is intimidating. Very intimidating. That’s the only reason why it took me so long to start going. Now that I sort of know what I’m doing, I really enjoy it!

Blog achievement: Going self-hosted. Taking the plunge to move from Blogger to WordPress and go self-hosted was one of the scariest yet best things I did in 2018 – and it was right at the beginning of the year too! Although I didn’t end up having as much time to blog as I hoped, I’m so glad that I decided to make the switch. Now I know the platform well so nothing is stopping me from getting back to consistent blogging in 2019!

Song(s): Locked Away – R. City; Adam Levine and Finally Free – Niall Horan

Skincare product(s): Lush Enchanted eye cream and Skin Drink moisturiser. I really tried but I couldn’t just pick one! These two products have been my favourites for a while and this year my love for them has grown even more! The Lush Enchanted eye cream is the only eye cream I’d recommend.

Makeup product: NYX under eye concealer. Considering how many times I’ve mentioned this product even I find it quite annoying that I still don’t have a proper review up! I do have one coming very soon so don’t you worry. This concealer is literally like a little pot of magic! If I had to choose one product to use on my face, it would be this.

Mental health: Getting back to reading. I’ve always loved reading and there hasn’t been a year when I haven’t read any books. However, for some reason there was a period when I didn’t enjoy picking up a physical book to read as much – I only enjoyed blogs. This year I finally got back to reading and actually couldn’t put the books down. I think joining GoodReads really helped! I only managed to finish 13 books which for me isn’t a lot but I’m really happy to see that I’m finally enjoying a hobby that I used to love!

Book: The Runaway Princess by Hester Browne.

Thing about myself: My hair. Practising self-care and self-love is something I was determined to do more in 2018. One of the things I’ve learned to love about myself is my hair. Self-love is something I think we all should learn to do more so if you’re not sure about your goals for 2019 I recommend you add that to your list!

Food: Avocado on toast. Sorry, not sorry.

Accessory: The Nokia Steer HR smart watch. I haven’t talked about this watch on my blog or social media before but I don’t think I could live without it anymore! Ever since I got it it has stayed on my wrist. The design so beautiful, it almost looks like a regular watch except that it’s thicker and has a tiny black display at the top.

TV Show: Alexa & Katie.

Artist: According to my Spotify Wrapped I should be saying Enrique Iglesias – I mean, I did listen to a lot of his music especially in the Summer when I wanted to listen to Spanish songs. However, my favourite artist this year was Lea Michele. Her voice is just so incredible!

Fashion brand: New Look. The coats, the jumpers, the dresses… give me everything please!

What were some of your favourites in 2018?
