Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?
So much has happened since my last blog post so I thought it would be nice to come back with a more chatty one and catch up a little! I haven’t written a chatty post in a while actually so I think it will be a nice change. Maybe I’ll even start writing these regularly!
Right now I’m recovering from wisdom teeth surgery. I got both my bottom wisdom teeth taken out last Friday and even though it has been almost a week already my energy levels are still quite low. Like I mentioned on Twitter, the surgery affected me a lot more than I thought it would. I actually thought that while I was recovering over the weekend, I’d had some time to plan my blog and social media posts. While I had the time, I definitely didn’t have the energy. Today has been the first day post surgery when I’ve actually got anything done.
Other than that I’ve been concentrating on my studying this month and simply haven’t had the time to write any blog posts. There where numerous occasions when I wanted to write but had to do something else instead.
Although I wanted to sit down and write many times, I didn’t really feel that inspired this month either. I think posting started to feel more like a task again rather than something I enjoyed. A little voice in my head kept saying “but you need to publish a blog post”. I do think that this break has given my subconsciousness time to figure out what kind of content I want to publish and where I want to take my blog in the future. I feel a lot more inspired now and have actually figured out what I want my Instagram to look like. It would mean a lot to me if you could check out my account and give it a follow if you like what you see!
Another thing I wanted to talk to you about is the I love me exhibition. It was already back in October but I thought I’d mention it anyway. If you’re not from Finland, you might have no idea what I’m talking about. I love me is a beauty expo which takes place in the Helsinki Expo and Convention centre every year at the end of October. I’ve had the chance to attend for the past 4 years and I’ve loved it every single time. This year my mission was to find sustainable, organic, cruelty-free and hopefully even vegan beauty brands that would possibly replace the ones in my routines that don’t have those qualities. I think I was pretty successful and I found many new brands that I’m going to tell you about in future posts.
The reason why this year was particularly exciting was because I had the chance to meet and talk to Sam and Nic Chapman aka Pixiwoo. Pixiwoo was the first beauty channel I ever subscribed to on YouTube. Seeing them do their magic live and actually having the chance to talk to them was something I never thought I’d be able to experience. They really are some of the loveliest and most humble people in the industry!
Like I mentioned, I know feel much more inspired and can’t wait to share all my thoughts and reviews with you! I even have a new theme by the incredible pipdig which makes coming back to blogging that much more exciting.
What have you been up to lately?
