These shades aren’t really your typical dark Autumn/Winter shades like Rimmel Kate Moss 107, but they are definitely a great alternative if you’re looking for a lighter lip. For some reason I haven’t really worn dark lipsticks this A/W and have opted for medium nudes and pinks instead. These two are my absolute go to at the moment!
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in 077 Asia
This has been living in my handbag as I’ve been reaching for it constantly! It’s the perfect darker nude for me and the undertones really compliment my light warm complexion. Asia is a warm medium nude with a mix of brown and mauve undertones. When swatched on the back of my hand, it definitely looks more brown and sort of muddy which made me not want to wear it that much at first, but when applied on the lips, you can really see the mauve undertones and I think it would look amazing on anyone with light to medium skintones. It goes on really smoothly, doesn’t dry out my lips and the colour is very pigmented. Although it only stays on for about 4 hours, it fades really evenly and you can apply more on top and it still looks perfect!
MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Hot Gossip
This shade is an amazing subtle alternative to darker plum shades! It’s a very pigmented medium plum with pink undertones and a gorgeous sheen! I think this would look amazing on many skintones, it’s definitely more versatile than Asia so even if you’re really fair or dark, I’d recommend giving this a go! It feels really creamy and soft on the lips and keeps them hydrated. Again, this isn’t the most long lasting lipstick but it stays on for about 4 hours as well and you can keep reapplying it without it looking funny. This is one of my go to shades when I want something I can apply on the go without a mirror and I know it will look great! Overall this is one of my most used MAC shades and I currently own 8 (let me know if you’d like to see what’s in my collection!).
What are your go to lipsticks at the moment?
