For me Spring makeup means glowy skin and many different shades of pink. I’ve picked a few products that fit perfectly into that description and created a makeup menu for you.
NYX Angel Veil primer
This primer is definitely one of my favourites as it’s affordable, suitable for dry skin and – this is completely irrelevant – but I absolutely love the name! I find that this is perfect for Spring because as a skin perfecting primer it evens out texture and makes your skin really smooth.
NARS Sheer Glow foundation
Like I already mentioned I love glowy skin in the Spring and when you want glowy skin NARS Sheer Glow is the foundation to go for. It has buildable medium coverage and creates a perfect base for the rest of your makeup leaving your skin looking like, well, skin.
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer
This concealer is incredible for brightening up the under eye are and making you look more awake. It’s doesn’t have the most coverage but it definitely fits into the “glowy skin” category. If you want more coverage I’d suggest using a colour correct under this to cover any darkness under the eyes and then using this to brighten.
Lumene Translucent Loose powder
I mainly like to use this to bake my under eye area but also on areas that might get a little oily during the day. This loose powder is very fine and doesn’t leave your makeup looking cakey or too matte. It’s completely translucent and gives a very natural finish.
Makeup Revolution Brow Arch & Shape
With this dual ended brow pen you can create very natural looking brows by creating a few hairlike strokes or go more heavy handed for a fuller look. The staying power is amazing but it’s also very easy to remove. Personally I like to mostly use the kohl end of the pen but it also has a felt tip.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper brow gel
After filling your eyebrows you of course want to set them into place so that they stay in place the whole day. For that I love using the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper. The brush is small which makes it very easy to apply and you don’t have to worry about getting brow gel around your brows rather than on them especially if you’re using the tinted versions.
Benefit Hoola bronzer
When I want to add some warmth to my face Benefit Hoola is usually the product I grab. It’s the perfect matte shade that isn’t too warm or cool toned. You can also apply it quite heavy handed before it looks too much unless you’re really pale.
I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts in Candy Queen of Hearts blusher
I’ve spoken about this blusher many times before here on the blog and I still absolutely love it. It’s the perfect shade for Spring and since it has three different shades you can create a few different colours by mixing them as you like.
Jane Iredale bronzer in Rose Dawn*
To create glowy skin using a highlighter is a must! I love all kinds of highlighters, those that give you that natural glow from within kinda look and those that are extremely blinding. The Rose Dawn bronzer is somewhere in between and works perfectly as a highlighter despite the fact that it’s supposedly a bronzer.
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
When I want to create a pink eyeshadow look I instantly start searching for my Naked 3 palette. It doesn’t have any bright pinks if that’s what you’re looking for but the rosy shades are gorgeous. Even without primer these stay on place a lot longer than most eyeshadows but I do still recommend using one!
NYX Matte lip creams in 06 Istanbul & 11 Milan
I’m in love with the NYX Matte lip creams! Even though they’re matte they don’t try out the lips but instead feel quite moisturising and comfortable the whole day. My favourite shades for Spring are Istanbul which is a gorgeous light nude pink and – my personal favourite – Milan which is a darker blue-toned pink.
Revlon Coloburst lip butter in 080 Strawberry Shortcake
If you’re looking for something more sheer this lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake is amazing. It feels like lip balm but also gives a beautiful pink tint.
|L-R: Strawberry Shortcake, Istanbul, Milan|
What products are on your Spring makeup menu? Do you like pinks or is coral your thing?
