I’ve been doing some shopping… Find out which makeup products are new in my collection!
NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette
I bought this palette mainly because Leah from Devoted to Pink has been raving about it so many times on her Snapchat, Twitter and blog! I mean I love highlighters and don’t actually own that many – the only highlighting palette I had before this is the Sleek Solstice one – but I doubt I would’ve bought this if she hadn’t talked about it. And I’m really glad I listened to Leah! These highlighters are gorgeous and you get 7 different shades in one palette. For the quality it’s quite a bargain too – 20€!
MAC Studio Sculpt foundation in NC37
If you follow me on Snapchat or Twitter, you might know that I’ve started fake tanning. I’ve only done it two times now, but with fake tanning comes the fact that all of your foundations are too light for you, and you’ll need to buy a new one. As I love the MAC Studio Sculpt, I decided to go to a MAC counter without any makeup on – terrifying, I know – and get matched to a darker shade.
I ended up leaving the counter with NC37 which they told me has more of an olive undertone than the other NC shades, so I was very excited because I have a slight green tint to my otherwise yellow complexion.Well, when I got home and tried it the next day, I noticed that instead of having an olive undertone it’s definitely too pink for me… Hopefully they’ll let me exchange it.
MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC30
Since I had to get a foundation that matches my fake tan, obviously I needed a new concealer too. I don’t really mind if a few blemishes can be seen through my foundation a bit, so I only needed a concealer for under the eyes. When I don’t have any fake tan on, none of the shades from the Pro Longwear concealer match me the way I want them to, but NC30 is perfect for those tanned days! It is quite a lot lighter than my foundation, but when blended properly, it really brightens the under eye area. Also, all darkness is covered since this is a full coverage concealer.
MAC Amplified lipstick in Dark Side
I have an evergrowing MAC wishlist on my phone, so while I was at a MAC counter, I thought I’d treat myself to a new lipstick. Dark Side has been on my wishlist for quite a while and as the colour is great for especially this time of the year, I just had to get it. At first I really wanted Diva, but as someone who already has dry lips, I’m not the biggest fan of matte lipsticks, so this was perfect as it is very similar (Diva has more red and less purple) but the formula is amplified.
MAC Cremesheen Glass in Deelight
Because I bought 3 products from MAC, I got this lip gloss for free. I haven’t used lip glosses that much in a while, but I fell in love with it’s light mauve shade and formula (the scent is amazing too!) so I’m hoping it will make me want to use the other lip glosses I own more as well. On the MAC site Deelight is described as a mid-toned neutral.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Stick in 117=Y225
This is one of the products I bought at the I love me beauty event I went to (see my photo diary here). I’ve only tried it once in the evening to see how it performs on my skin and it might be a tad too light for me. I’ll have to try it again in natural lighting and see what it looks like then, hopefully I don’t have to try to exchange this too… It goes on very smoothly and leaves a very nice finish on the skin.
Ofra Highlighter in Beverly Hills
Us Finnish beauty enthusiasts are finally able to buy Ofra Cosmetics without the hassle of customs so thank you Koreina for that! They were having a -20% off of Ofra before Halloween so I had to grab a few things I had been lusting after. The first thing being the Beverly Hills highlighter. Isn’t it just gorgeous?! Just when I was saying that I don’t have that many highlighters and this is already the second one in one single haul…
Jaclyn Hill raved about this highlighter at some point and as soon as I saw her use it, I fell in love. The pigmentation is amazing and I love the fact that you get so many highlighters in only one small compact.
Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Havana Nights
If you have any idea who Kathleen Lights is, you probably know, that she has collaborated with Ofra and made two liquid lipstick shades with them. I already own Miami Fever – and a few other shades – so I thought why not get this one as well since I love the formula and the shade is just gorgeous! Again, perfect for this time of the year!
Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray
I love the original All Nighter setting spray but as the weather is getting colder – which is going to make my skin even drier – I thought it was about time I’d try the hydrating version. When applied it gives a not-so-noticeable cooling sensation which sounds amazing for those hot and dry Summer days as well. This feels a lot better on my skin at this time of the year and keeps my makeup put just as long as the original one.
