The day school ended and June started almost seems like yesterday yet here we are, halfway through July. Yikes! Well as said, time flies when you’re having fun right? And while doing just that you need to keep yourself clean and looking good. Here are some of my favourite things I used throughout the month of June to keep myself freshened up and entertained.
I absolutely adore these two products! They leave my hair super voluminous and soft and both of them last very long even though the containers are pretty small (shampoo 250ml, conditioner 150ml). All the products are fragrance free so if you’re sensitive to perfumes or just don’t like some of the strong scents in hair products you should totally try these ones out! They are excellent for normal to combination hair.
This hair powder is excellent for summer especially because my hair tends to get more oily when it’s hot and you sweat more. It prevents oil formation on the scalp like dry shampoos do, but it also gives your hair a velvety finish and adds volume. So it’s basically like dry shampoo and hairspray combined which I think is super cool! You can get this one in the travel size (100ml) which is shown in the picture or in a normal one (250ml). Read more about it here.
Bronzing Powder by H&M in Gorgeous Tan
This is my first ever bronzer and I had no idea what kind I should get so I though it would be good just to practice using one before trying out more expensive ones. Turns out this is actually a very good basic bronzer. It’s not extremely pigmented, but you can build up the colour. It blends very easily and doesn’t leave a visible line. Plus it’s cheap!
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 235 Mischievous
When I first saw this lip crayon I absolutely fell in love with the colour! It’s a very bright coral orange (it looks like just orange it the pictures, sorry about that!) and it looks gorgeous on the lips. It also smells very good, kind of like peppermint or toothpaste so it seems like you’ve just brushed you teeth, haha! It also stays long on the lips so you don’t have to be in front of the mirror adding more all the time.
Lumene Touch of Radiance Matt Powder Foundation in 01 Cream Beige
When in comes to wearing makeup in the summer I like it to be as light as possible so if I’m not having an absolutely terrible skin day I prefer to use powder foundation instead of a liquid one. This foundation feels like you aren’t wearing any of it and it gives your skin a beautiful satin glow with a matte finish. I also have dropped it a couple of times and the powder still hasn’t shattered which is a definite plus! http://www.lumene.com/touch-radiance-face-makeup/matt-powder-foundation-0
My favourite cleansing product in June have been these gentle cleansing wipes by Nivea and they’re perfect for my combination skin even though it says “dry skin” on the front. They remove all the makeup you’ve been using that day and leave your skin very soft and hydrated. They smell really good too and the scent isn’t too strong
Depend nail polishes in 031 (white) and 244 (light coral)
Nailpolishwise I’ve been using a lot of the 031 Depend one. I know that in the summer you usually wear colours like yellow and pink but I’ve just been loving it so much this June! But at the end of June I started to use the 244 a lot since I thought maybe it’s time to wear something brighter and summerlike. They both stay on for days and cover the nail perfectly after just two layers. Read more about them here.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I know probably everyone has already read this book, but if you somehow have missed the train you must hop on it! After I read the first two pages I couldn’t let this book out of my hands. TFIOS has definitely become one of my favourite books of all time and I could read it over and over. Long story short, it’s a tragic love story about Hazel who suffers from lung cancer and Augustus who had osteosarcoma but is now cancer-free after having his leg amputated. You can buy the book from Amazon in here, follow John Green’s twitter here or read more about the book here (but don’t spoil all the fun and read too much about it!).
I hope you’re having an excellent week so far!
