July Favourites

I can't believe that it's already the last day of July and Autumn is almost here - which I'm actually really excited about!

Today I'm going to be sharing my favourite makeup products for the month which I haven't done in a while. For some reason for the past few months I've been reaching for the same products constantly but in July I finally shopped my stash and switched my makeup routine a bit more. I actually ended up discovering a few products that I wasn't really a fan of before but now they've ended up in this post!

The Body Shop Wonderblur primer
This is one of the products that I didn't really use to like but I think that's because I had a bad skincare routine back then and this ended up making my skin look really dry. Now it just creates a perfected and smooth canvas for my makeup which makes any of my foundations look flawless. If I'm having a bad skin day and my skin is quite dry - or I have any spots - this can make the dry patches look worse but I just fix it by applying a moisturising primer on those areas on top of this.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder
I absolutely love this powder! As someone who has a dry skin but wants to make sure makeup stays in place the whole day, finding a good powder can be a bit tricky. This Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is perfect for that job - it doesn't make my skin feel or look cakey, it keeps my makeup in place all day and it leaves a natural, not matte, finish.

Rimmel Brow This Way brow kit
I remember buying this quite a while ago because someone on YouTube suggested it but then I just ended up using brow pens instead. When I finally picked this up and tried it out a bit more I really enjoyed using the wax and have been ever since. The pigment is just perfect, not extremely pigmented but you don't have to apply a ton of product either. It's very easy to apply and you can create really natural or bold eyebrows with it.

NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating highlighter palette
If you love highlighters, you'll love this palette. It has so many amazing different shades and even though a few look quite dark on the palette they don't look like that on the skin. I have a light skin (I'm NC25 - MAC, 6 Ceylan - Nars Sheer Glow, 51/52 - Bourjois) and can still use all of these. The shades are really pigmented and not full of chunks of glitter like some drugstore highlighter can be. My favourite shades are the two small pans in the middle and both of the lighter shades in the bigger pans.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel mascara
I got this mascara in a beauty subscription box at the beginning of the year but only started using it in June as I had so many other mascaras to go through. I'm actually quite gutted that I didn't open and try this right away because I think it's one of the best mascaras I've ever tried! I don't think I've ever used a mascara with a brush like this before - it's more of like a comb than a brush to be honest. Because of the shape you're able to get really close to the bottom of your lashes and give your lashes that "lifted wing look".
