New Start

Some of you might have already noticed that my banner looks more than slightly different. When I started blogging I really didn't think about the name a lot as I really couldn't come up with anything great and just wanted to start posting. I knew from the start that at some point I'd want to change the name of my blog to something else but none of my ideas felt right.

For about 4 months ago I started playing with "Based On". At first I thought about changing the name to "Based On Anu" but I didn't like it. "Based On Beauty" didn't sound good to me either. When I decided to leave the last part blank I noticed how good just "Based On" sounded in my head.
I asked from myself so many times if it sounds silly or does it really have any meaning, but then again I love it and it's my blog. I do hope that all of you like this change too as it's really important to me :).

I'm not sure if I know how to explain what the name means to me but I'll try :D. It kind of has a hidden beauty related meaning. Like I've based my face, does that make sense? As in I've put on foundation, powder etc? That's what I thought about when I chose the name and it makes sense to me :).

I also have a new URL which is http://www.basedonblog.com or just without the www. You can still come to blog through http://mylifeasanu.blogspot.com and it redirects you to my new URL :).

I hope you all love my blog's new name as much as I do! Please leave your thoughts on it in the comments if you like :).

Thank you so much for your support<3

Let's keep in touch

Lush Big Blue Bath Bomb

I've always wanted a bath tub and finally got one at the beginning of Summer. It has literally changed my life! Even though I like taking long warm showers there's just something a lot more relaxing in a long bath (plus you save a lot of water - or I do at least...).

15 Reasons To Be Excited for Autumn

1. The weather
Personally, I love it when you don't have to be afraid of burning and looking like a tomato when you go outside. Instead there's rain and chilly air, love, love, love.

2. Candles
It's so calming to lit a couple of candles and read a few magazines or a book with a cup of (insert drink of choice).

3. Staying In
Even though the weather is amazing, no one really wants to go outside in the pouring rain. What a good excuse to stay inside wrapped in a blanket and watch some reruns of Friends.

Best Drugstore Foundation

Ever since I got into makeup I've always had a problem of not finding a base that would be the right shade. I've have a light skin with yellow undertones and every foundation - at least in the drugstore - seemed to be either too pink or dark.

When I finally decided to ask some recommendations from fellow beauty bloggers, I was introduced to the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. Sadly Bourjois isn't sold in Finland so I had never heard of it before. I finally decided to order it from feelunique.com almost a year and I'm so glad I did!

Colourful Day

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you probably know that two weeks ago I attended a colour run with my best friend, my sister and her boyfriend. We had such a great time and there was so many people there! Hopefully I can go again next year.

Basically it's a 5km path and you get this coloured powder thrown at you. During your run (or walk) you have to go over or under different obstacles and usually after you've completed it, they throw the powder at you. At every obstacle the powder is a different colour so at the end of the run, you look really colourful! If you don't want to ruin your own clothes (the colour does come off) you get a white t-shirt before the run starts.

Brush Cleaning Made Easy! | Born Pretty Store*

There's one thing probably every makeup enthusiast hates to do: wash their makeup brushes. Then again, it's really important to keep your tools clean, so all of the bacteria doesn't get onto your face and cause breakouts and all that other not so wanted stuff.

Fortunately, there's a tool to make brush cleaning a lot more easier with only under $4! Let me introduce you to the Brush Cleaning Egg*. I'm definitely one of those people who don't wash their brushes as often as they should. I feel like it takes ages and when your brush collection is growing all the time, it just isn't one of those tasks you look forward to.
