Unboxing | Livbox March Edition

It's again that time of the month when I tell you about that little surprise that shows up on my doorstep every month. Or actually the little arrival note does and then I have pick up the package from the post office...
Bangerhead Professional Fresh Me Up! Dry Shampoo (13,90€/200ml) - Dry shampoo has become one of my everyday essentials as I really like the volume it gives for my hair. It even has some goji berry in it which gives the dry shampoo a lovely smell - that isn't too strong and doesn't give you a headache - and apparently it's know for the healthy effects it has for your skin and hair.

Dove Oxygen & Moisture Shampoo 50ml sample (3,85€/250ml) - When creating this range Dove used a technology called oxyfusion which holds the oxygen in the moisturising ingredients - if that makes sense. It's supposed to add 95% volume and make your hair look more alive. I just saw the commercial for this the other day and have really wanted to try this since. Plus it's very cheap!

Dove Oxygen & Moisture Conditioner 50ml sample (3,85€/250ml) - Just basically a conditioner of the shampoo I just told you about. It says it moisturises your hair without making it look flat and even gives volume.
Rimmel Provocalips in 110 Dare to Pink (9,90€) - Everyone has been talking about this lip product for so long and I finally got my hands on it. I can already tell from the swatch I did the other day (but forgot to take a picture of) that it's very long lasting. It stayed on my hand for two days and I only swatched the colour without using the clear gloss on top. If you want to see a swatch of this you can find a picture on my Instagram where I've swatched many different lipsticks, this is the one on the far left!

Nailfix Yummy Gummy Cuticle Oil (3,80€/15ml) - When I first opened the package I noticed that sadly this cuticle oil was broken as the small bottle is made of glass. Livbox was kind enough to send my a new one and I'm really glad they did as I love this one. It has kept my cuticles hydrated and it smells like a mixture of fruit and candy!
Lumene Bright Now Vitamin C Shine Control Cream-Gel (19,90€/50ml) - This cream-gel - never heard of that before - is supposed to help control shine, minimise pores and moisturise efficiently. "An oil-free gel that absorbs immediately keeps your skin matte, smooth and fresh the whole day." It's for normal to oily skin and I think this sounds like a perfect moisturiser to use under your makeup if it actually does all the things it claims to do.

The box included a couple perfume samples too, Love Story by ChloƩ and Reveal by Calvin Klein for men. But as I don't use any perfumes I'm going to leave these untouched and give them to someone.
Since my first cuticle oil had broken Livbox also send me a couple surprises when they send me a new one! I got a new Lumene Candy Smile Gloss Stick which I already received in the November Livbox, Etre Belle Eye-Pads and a Reveal by Calvin Klein sample!

Let me know what you think of these products if you've tried any of them! :)

My Thoughts on Tweets about Zayn

First of all, I wasn't sure whether to publish this post or not as in my head I thought that people are just going to think "She's just another crazed fangirl who doesn't know anything about life or real problems". Well I can assure you, that's not the case. And this is my blog so I can post almost anything I want, right?

I didn't start writing this post to tell what I feel about Zayn leaving the band but the thing I did want to talk about are some of the tweets I've seen on Twitter since yesterday. Tweets that have been posted by other bloggers and most of all, adults. Tweets like "Wait until he has no money left", "I'm so happy Zayn left, he wasn't my favourite anyway", "Directioners are being so over dramatic about this", "Zayn left One Direction? Omg I knew it this is so funny", "The fans should just get over it" etc. And these aren't even the worst ones. I actually thought people were more mature than that.

I know that One Direction probably hasn't affected you in any way but no one has the right to say to a fan that they can't be sad about this. If you or someone close to you isn't a "Directioner" you've no idea what really goes on in the fanbase and how the boys can affect someone's life. Many people belong to the fanbase so they can find happiness and lean on to something when they're going through a hard time in their lives. And by hard time I don't mean getting through exams and things like that. I actually mean things like bullying, depression, problems with your parents and friends etc.

One Direction has actually saved lives and when someone changes the one thing that feels stable in your life, it isn't an easy thing to cope with. I've been a fan of the boys since the beginning and even though the actual fangirl phase has calmed down a lot I still continue to support them like I did in the start. They've helped me through a lot of hard times in my life so I know how it feels when someone just laughs about it and tells you "it's just a boyband".
This basically sums up what I'm trying to say through this rant
I really just hope that before you say that anyone is overreacting about anything that is going on in their lives just think about that it may be a much bigger deal to them that it seems and you probably don't know everything about it. Also, you really can't judge anyone or their opinion about something unless you're in the exact same situation as they are.

I really hope you understand my point through this post and respect my opinion.

Creative Blogger Award

Hello everyone! I'm finally back to blogging as I was able to charge my camera (even though I didn't need it for this post...). Hope you didn't miss me too much, haha ;).

Anyway, I was kindly nominated for Creative Blogger Award by the lovely Christiana from Lifestyle Counter. Thank you so much for the nomination! It's nice to sometimes write about something else than beauty even though it's a huge passion of mine. Now let's dive right into the rules!

The Rules:
  • Nominate 20 other blogs and their links
  • Thank and post the link of the blog that nominated you (very important)
  • Share 5 facts about yourself to your readers
  • Notify all nominees via their social media/blogs
  • Pass these rules on to them

5 Facts About Me:
  1. When I was little I cut my eyebrows really short because I wanted to plug them but it hurt too much in my opinion. They looked horrendous!
  2. I've never dyed my hair except for highlighting.
  3. The only coffee I like are Starbucks' frappucinos.
  4. Lately I've been obsessed with old series like Friends, Prison Break, the Nanny, H2O...
  5. Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Primark etc are my favourite clothing stores yet we don't have any of them in Finland.

My nominees are:

I hope you're enjoying this week so far!

Lip Liner for All Lipsticks

IsaDora perfect lipliner in 80 transparent
When it comes to my daily makeup I never used to wear lip liner. However, since I got into using more lipsticks last Autumn, I've been on a hunt for good but affordable lip liners - especially for those dark lipstick shades. Unfortunately the colour choices for lip liners here in Finland is pretty limited if you don't want to spend a lot of money on them. Also ordering a lip liner online can quite frustrating as they probably won't be the same shade as it looks on your laptop screen.

Fortunately when I was doing some makeup shopping with my sister back in December I found the IsaDora Perfect Lipliner in 80 Transparent. For me it's the perfect lip liner as I don't always remember to use them and it goes with absolutely every lipstick shade I own! Now I don't have to invest in every lip liner shade that I need, unless I want to of course.
As for the lip liner itself, it goes on the lips very easily. It does feel a bit waxy so if you've dry lips, you probably need to moisturise first (personally I do this before any lip product even though I don't have dry lips). Despite the consistency, in my opinion it doesn't feel uncomfortable or drying on the lips and you don't feel it at all after applying the lipstick you want to use. Also lipsticks - all finishes - glide on just as easily as they would on bare lips and stay on a whole lot longer.

Edited on 27th of March: IsaDora is only sold in selected European countries (find them on their website http://www.isadora.com/global/) so if you don't live in one of the countries you should find a transparent lip liner from Maybelline if you're interested in buying one :).

What lip liners do you like to use?

The Perfect Budget Nude?

Whether it's because of the hype around Velvet Teddy thanks to Kylie Jenner or just the shade itself, I've been hooked with all kinds of nude lipsticks for the past three or four months. I've never even really thought about nude lipsticks and now I suddenly have four of them. That might not sound a lot to some of you, but for a girl who had only two lipstick a year ago, it's plenty.
The one I'm going to talk about has to be my most used, the cheapest and probably favourite nude lipstick I own. It's the Makeup Revolution #Liphug in When You Came To Me. It's also the first nude lipstick I bought actually.

Even though the #Liphugs cost only £2.50, they're very long lasting, creamy and the pigment is just perfect! The only thing that puts me off is the smell of the lipstick but you really don't notice it at all when it's on your lips, only if you're like me and love to stick your nose in every product you own and smell them until you feel dizzy.
When it comes to lipstick shades I'm usually very rubbish at explaining them but I'd say this is a nude lipstick with a hint of peach in it. I really hope that the pictures I took give the actual shade some credit but you can also view the lipstick on Makeup Revolution's website here.

Have you tried any of the #Liphugs? What's your opinion?

January and February Favourites

The first few months of 2015 have gone so fast for me and it seems like I've had so much to do but still done nothing. That's also partly a reason why I haven't blogged as much as I would've liked and I apologise for that.
Also I didn't really feel like doing a January Favourites post as I didn't discover anything new or change my routines that much in January or February actually. I do have some favourites from the first two months of 2015 so I'm going to tell you a bit about them now before I blabber too much, haha.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (link) - I've been using this for about two months now and I can totally see what all the hype is about. This cleansing water removers all my makeup and leaves my skin feeling fresh after using it. Also I've used this two times a day and it still has more than half of it left! I'd definitely recommend this over any makeup remover I've tried.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water - Due to it still being very dark outside I've become extremely tired as soon as the sun has set - which has been at 4 or 5pm. This thermal water has helped a lot to keep me awake and going. It has also helped to keep my skin more hydrated during the day and it's great that you can just spray it on top of your makeup.

Clinique High Impact Mascara - I've talked about this mascara in some of my favourites post before and now I've been loving it yet again. It gives so much volume and length to my lashes. If you put it too much though, it can look clumpy so I always make sure to use an eyelash brush afterwards.

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in 02 Soft Brown (link) - In the past few months I've been a bit lazy with my brows and I've really just filled them in. This Maybelline brow pencil is a very good choice when you want to do your brows quickly and leave them looking natural. If I've had more time and patience to do my brows I've still been loving one of my December Favourite which is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Arch & Shape (review here).

Lumene Powder Foundation in 01 Cream Beige - Another old favourite which I've rediscovered at the beginning of the year. My skin has been in a pretty good condition so I've mostly used light coverage foundations. However, if I've wanted a bit more coverage I've turned to this Lumene powder. It gives you a really nice matte finish with a bit of glow.

What are some of your current favourites?
