Best of 2014

I can't believe 2014 is long over and it's already the end of January 2015!
2014 was a weird year for me, it had it's ups and downs. Also I got a lot more into makeup and finally started my very own blog!
Now let's get into my favourite things of 2014!
Makeup
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 105 (discontinued) - I don't use this as much anymore as I've been trying out other foundations because this shade got discontinued but I used to love this foundation! I'd say it's a medium coverage and gives a very nice finish.
Rimmel London Wake Me Up concealer in 010 Ivory (full review) - No idea why this product isn't in the picture, sorry about that. Anyway,
Lumene Sheer Finish loose powder - I've been using this powder ever since I started using powder and I think it's the best loose powder. It doesn't feel on the skin at all and it helps to keep your makeup on place all day.
Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in 51 - This is my holy grail bronzer. It's so good for contouring and bronzing up your face. There isn't literally a single thing I don't like about this bronzer.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara - The only mascara I can use on my bottom lashes - other than waterproof mascaras - that doesn't make me look like a panda. The brush is super tiny and you can use it on your upper lashes too.
Makeup Revolution #Liphug lipstick in "When you came to me" - My go to lipstick of the year. It's a nude shade with a hint of pink on it. The consistency is a bit creamy and it stays on the lips for so long.
Real Techniques Blush Brush - This brush is just so fluffy and lovely. You can use it for blusher, bronzer, powder etc and it's just amazing.
Skincare
The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub - This cleanses my skin so well and my skin feels extremely smooth after using this. It really helps to sort out breakouts.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ - This product has lasted me for so long even though I've been using it for about 6 months! It decreases redness and helps with all the blemishes and annoying things like that.

Hair
Four Reasons Hair Powder - This stuff is amazing if your hair tends to get oily easily and you don't want/have time to go to the shower in the morning. It gives you volume, makes your hair look all fresh and clean and also keeps it in place a bit so you don't necessarily have to use hairspray. I actually talked about this in my Empties #2 post too.
Nails
Tiger White nail polish in 58 - I just had to include this nail polish as it has been my go to nail polish shade if I couldn't decide what colour to go for. It's only 1€ and it's so easy to apply plus it dries super quickly.

Music

Songs:
  • John Martin - Anywhere For You
  • Becky G - Shower
  • Becky G - Can't Get Enough
  • Becky G - Can't Stop Dancing
Album: One Direction - Four

Films

Divergent - I was actually supposed to read the book before watching this film but then my best friend had it and we watched it but now I really want to read the book even more because usually if I like the film I like the book even more! So I can't wait to do that.
Maleficent - Angelina Jolie is just so good in this film I can't even tell you. I prefer this 100% over the original Sleeping Beauty which is kind of scary because it's one of my favourite films.

Series
The Originals - I'm a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries but I feel like since season 4 it has gotten a bit weird even though I still like to watch it. Anyway, I was so excited when I found out that they're going to make a series about the originals because I think they're the most interesting vampires and even if you don't like the Vampire Diaries, I'd say just give this a go and see if it interests you!
Reign - I've always loved everything about history and especially historical films and tv shows. Reign is definitely one of the best ones even though I'm not sure if it actually follows how everything really went.

Unboxing | Livbox January Edition

I don't know why my unboxing posts are always so late... Really need to improve on that!

First impressions:
  • Lumene Ultra Sensitive Moisturising & Calming Mask (17,90€/75ml) - This mask is super moisturising and literally leaves your skin feeling like a baby's bum. It also smells like blueberries!
  • Philosophy The Microdelivery Peel Kit (76€/60+60ml) - I haven't tried this yet because it's so expensive so I want to save it for a super pamper evening. It sounds great though as it's a two-step exfoliator and it's supposed to be gentle but very effective.
  • Cutrin Chooz Multivolumizer (15,90€/150ml) - This is such a good product. I put it in my hair after I've taken a shower and blow dry it or let it dry while I sleep and it gives my hair such a nice natural volume without anything else!
  • La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+ (9€/200ml) - This lotion is so good for winter time. You can use it all over your body too! If your skin is feeling itchy because it's so dry this lotion calms down the irritation and it strengthens your skin.
  • Rimmel BB Cream 9-in-1 in Light (11,90€/30ml) - Every time there's a product like this that claims to have all the good things I usually never believe it bit this BB cream really primes, conceals, moisturises, brightens etc. It feels light on the skin and it's creamier than other BB creams I've used which I think makes it smoother to apply.
Overall review:

January Livbox's theme was "Winter's Top Products" and I think the products went great with the theme as most of them are meant to moisturise.

What I Got for Christmas 2014

I'm back, with an extremely late post I'm afraid. I was meant to post this a long time ago but due to my writer's block and an event in my life I haven't been able to.
Anyway, I like reading these kinds of posts so I though why not write one myself? It's also one of my favourite YouTube videos to watch as I'm very nosey and love hauls etc ;).

Empties #2

Hello all!
After about a week long writer's block and crazy amount of tiredness I'm finally back on track.
I haven't done an empties post in such a long time and this is only my second one! This time I've used up so many of my favourite hair products that I definitely need to go get some more asap.

Four Reasons Hair Powder
I've actually used two of these and also a travel sized one but I didn't think it was necessary to take a picture of all of them. I'm not quite sure why it's named as a hair powder because it does the exact same thing as a dry shampoo. Anyway, I think this product is just amazing! I mainly use it to give volume and remove that little bit of oil that I might have in my hair every now and then but it does the job so well.
Would I repurchase this product? - Definitely! I've been using it for so long and can't even count how many bottles I've already bought.

Natusan Baby Mild Care Top-To-Toe Wash
I don't know what you or other people use to wash their makeup brushes with but I prefer using sensitive liquid soaps. And what's more sensitive and mild than baby wash? This bottle is 400ml and it lasted me for about 4 months! I used it when I washed both my hands and makeup brushes. It cleaned the brushes super well and left them very soft.
Would I repurchase this product? - I actually already have another one of this somewhere in the depths of my drawer but I'm currently testing another sensitive liquid soap.

SebaMed Clear Face Deep Cleansing Foam
When it comes to removing my makeup and cleansing my face i always want to be 110% sure there's no makeup left in my face before I go to sleep. So after using my makeup remover I like to take two pumps of this foam to make sure there's no makeup left before I use another cleanser to cleans my face. I know - that might sound a bit extreme but when I started this routine my face has been so much clearer! Even though this foam is deep cleansing and for oily skin it still doesn't dry out my skin (I have combination skin), reduces redness and again, is very sensitive.
Would I repurchase this product? - Yes, it's one of my holy grail skincare products!

Herbina Sensitive Hairspray
As you've already probably noticed I like using products that are sensitive! I'm not quite sure if you can get this anywhere else than Finland but if you can then I really recommend this hairspray. Some hairsprays that have fragrance in them give me a massive headache and these unfragranced ones are just as good. Sometimes thought if you spray even a little bit too much of this it can make your hair look very sticky so I'd be careful with that!
Would I repurchase this product? - If I don't have any hairspray left and I need a new one then yes this is always my #2 choice but I do prefer the next one I'm going to talk about.

Cutrin Sensitive Finish It Hairspray
Another hairspray I've used up! Even though I love using both of the hairsprays I'd say prefer this one. It's a bit more expensive and I can't buy from my local store but it definitely stays on longer and you don't have to be afraid of your hair looking sticky (unless you spray half of the bottle on your hair at once).
Would I repurchase this product? - Absolutely!

Yotuel All-In-One Whitening Toothpaste Gel
I don't know if this is a weird thing to talk about in an empties post... However I just had to tell you how amazing this toothpaste is! I have never used any whitening strips or anything like that but after I got my braces off about a year ago I felt like I wanted to whiten my teeth a little. After some searching I found this toothpaste and as I already said, it's just amazing. In my opinion it's not like other whitening toothpastes as it actually whitens the dentin, not just the surface of the tooth. It also does all the other things a toothpaste should and it tastes good too.
Would I repurchase this product? - Already did ;)

Round Up: Best of The Body Shop Advent Calendar

Even though I already did 6 posts about TBS Advent Calendar and told you about the products I just had to write about those ones that I think stood out among all the others.

Moringa Shower Gel (8,50€/£4/$8 for 250ml/8.4oz) - When I first received this, I fell in love with the smell. It smells like flowers but not too much and the scent isn't too strong either. Probably my favourite product to use in the shower right now, haha.

Moringa Body Milk (16,50€/£8/$12 for 250ml/8.4oz) - Before this I had never tried body milks or even really thought about them. But now it's one of the most moisturising and used products I own. Very little goes such a long way, only one drop and your hands are well moisturised.

Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion (16,50€/£8/$12 for 250ml/8.4oz) - Even though I don't use this shimmer lotion that much, it's still one of my favourite products that came out of the advent calendar. I used it around the holidays at parties and it left a nice subtle shimmer on my skin and literally made my skin glow. Again, it smells amazing too!

Shea Body Butter (18,90€/£13/$20 for 200ml/6.75oz) - If you're a fan of The Body Shop's Coconut body butter, I can tell you, you will love this! The consistency is exactly the same as in every other TBS body butter - thick and creamy - but I find this a tad more moisturising.

Vitamin E Night Cream (25,20€/£12/$20 50ml/1.7oz) - If my skin feels very dry because of the cold weather or in general I put this night cream on before bed and when I wake up, voila, my skin is super moisturised and soft!

Almond Hand & Nail Cream (9,50€/£5/$10 for 30ml) - The first product I got from the calendar and I'm still absolutely loving it! It has so many great ingredients for your skin and even though it's very moisturising it doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky. It feels light when applied and it absorbs super quickly.

December Favourites

The lighting has been ridiculously bad and because I still have to use my phone when taking pictures it's even more important than usually. Finally, here are my December favourites:

Beauty
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 52 Vanilla - Ever since I bought this foundation it's the only one I've been using. It's also the perfect colour for me which I was very scared about since I had to order this online. The coverage is light to medium but buildable.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch in 01 Ivory - I bought this concealer last Summer but didn't like it at first that much. I was tidying my drawer one day and decided to try this under my eyes and it worked perfectly! Since then it's been a life saver if my dark circles have been extremely bad. It's very creamy and blends easily.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Arch & Shape in Dark - This brow product has been my favourite since November actually but back then I hadn't used it for that long so it only made it to my favourites in December. If you've tried the Soap & Glory Brow Tint & Precision pen then you now what this product is about. In my opinion it's exactly the same but cheaper version. If you want to know more about this product then stay tuned for a review in the near future :).

Depend Nail Polish in 045 - In my opinion gold and glitter go perfectly with anything festive so this nail polish was my huge favourite for the whole month of December.

Other
Deliciously Ella - My sister Anetta has a very healthy lifestyle and she informed me about paleo and Ella's blog. I haven't changed my diet but I've really enjoyed trying out different recipes by Ella (especially the smoothies) and so far I've loved them all.

Teen Wolf - When season 4 ended I started to watch Teen Wolf from the start and if I wanted to watch something it would always be this show.

Where Do Broken Hearts Go - One Direction - If I had to choose one song that I've played on repeat then this would definitely be at the top of the list! If I felt like listening to some music this would be the first song I'd play.

To 2015

Hello everyone and Happy New Year 2015!

I know it's already 5th of January (feels so weird to talk about January, just me?) and I apologise for not writing anything sooner but I've been very busy at the turn of the year.
Anyway, I hope all of you had an amazing time during the holidays and a great New Year's Eve with whoever you got to spent it with! Personally I had a great time with my best friend. Our evening was very relaxed as we didn't really do anything special, just ate some junk food and watched Teen Wolf. Normal sleepover. We did lit up some sparklers though as you can see from this post's photo.

When she left on the 1st of January I made some New Year Resolutions. I've also made a little reader survey and I really hope you can take a little bit of your time and answer some of the questions in the link at the end of this post :).

My goals for 2015
  • Read more books
  • Make healthier choices
  • Try not to stress as much
  • Live in the moment
  • Attend a blogger event
  • Improve my photography
  • Do more of what makes me happy
  • Get rid of things I don't need
  • Be more organised
I wanted to keep my resolutions pretty simple this year so I can actually achieve them

Now onto the reader survey which you can find here or at the end of this post. If you want to make your own just use the website called surveymonkey.com or search "create survey" (or anything similar) if you don't want to use the same one I used.

Thank you for reading my blog so far! Let's enjoy 2015 ;)
