The Liebster Award

Hi everyone!

First I'd like to say a massive thank you to Aly (bitemebyaly.blogspot.com) and Katriona and Julie (http://katrionakinsandjuliekins.blogspot.ie) who were so kind to nominate me for the Liebster Award!

The Liebster Award is a blog award given by a blogger to another blogger with followers under 200 so it's a chain created by bloggers and a way to discover new blogs.
Now, let's get started!

Here are the rules:
  • Thank/link the blogger who nominated you
  • Answer the 11 questions they have written for you
  • Give 11 random facts about yourself
  • Nominate other bloggers with under 200 followers who you believe deserve the award
  • You can not nominate the person who nominated you
  • Post 11 question for your nominees to answer and be sure to let them know that they've been nominated

Aly's questions:

  1. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
Washington D.C. or Edinburgh because I've been in both places before and absolutely love the both of them!

  2. Who's your style icon?
This is a hard question since I have SO many but here's a couple: Blake Lively, Perrie Edwards, Zendaya Coleman and Emma Watson. I like to keep updated with their style and then mix them together to create my own.

  3. Your favourite makeup brand?
For high street/drugstore makeup it would be Maybelline, but if I want to pamper myself and go to the high end section I'd say YSL or Estée Lauder.

  4. Your favourite clothes store?
My favourite clothing store would definitely be Urban Outfitters! But since we don't have their store in Finland (sad face) I buy most of my clothes from H&M.

  5. Why did you start a blog?
Because I needed something else to think about and I've been considering it for a very long time.

  6. Your favourite movie?
Mamma Mia!

  7. How would you describe yourself in two words?
Uhhh... Respectful and unique, maybe.

  8. Who are your male and female celebrity crush?

  10. Your most played song?
Get Up And Go - The Exchange

  11. What's your guilty pleasure?
Teen Wolf. Who can resist a bit of Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Posey every once in a while ;)

Katriona and Julie's questions:

  1. Are you a One Directioner?
Yes I am!

  2. Guys with stubble or no stubble?
It depends because for some guys it suits very and I mean VERY well, but in general I'd say no stubble.

  3. What's your favourite thing about being a blogger?
Being able to improve yourself all the time.

Clothing Haul

I've gone a bit overboard when it comes to shopping recently as this is my second haul post this week. I'll just blame the sales... Joking! Everything I've bought has actually been things I've wanted/needed for long time and luckily found them from the summer sales or then just at this time in general. Everything in this haul is from VilaH&M or Zara. Enjoy!

I bought these shorts from Vila and they are by the brand Pieces as seen above. They are normal waist and SUPER comfortable! They are actually darker than in the picture but my lighting was really bad so I had to brighten it up. Only downside in these is the sizing. I usually wear size 36 or 27/28 in inches but I had to buy these shorts in size L/XL. The smallest size looks like it's made for kids age of 10. Anyways I'm really glad I finally found jean shorts so soft and casual. They were 13,95€.
This grey shirt is from H&M. It's a bit baggy and the sleeves come almost down to your elbow. The hem is round and it's a bit longer than a normal t-shirt. If you're looking for something that is slightly baggy but not too big I would totally recommend this shirt since that's exactly what I wanted. It was 7,95€

The first thing I noticed in Zara was this cute t-shirt with lace on the top which is also baggy. They had it in navy, light - kind of dirty - brown and this stripy one I got. The lace makes such a huge difference in an otherwise normal shirt and I think I actually have a crush on this shirt (is that possible? Hah). It was on sale for 9,95€.

Next are these gorgeous knit tops I liked so much I had to get it in two colours. The top one is kind of a nude peachy one and then I got the black one. They also had it in white but it didn't suit me that well so I just went for these two. They are so light and look very flattering on. I think they will look great with a colourful bag or shoes since it has so many different colours in the details at the top. These were both 15,95€ from the sale.

Last but not least is this thin bright pink jumper. It's oversized with a v-neck and a longer back. When I tried it on in the shop in looked great and I also realised I have nothing pink in my wardrobe - gasps - so there's another reason to buy it! The jumper was also on sale for 15,95€

And that's all I've bought. Have you been as affected by the sales as I? If so, tell me in the comments below some of the things you've bought or feel free to leave a link to your blogpost if you've done one!

Huge Jewellery Haul

different kinds of necklaces jewellery jewelry
I absolutely adore accessories! You can make a black dress from casual to dressy by changing your scarf to a statement necklace or your earrings from studs to big hanging ones.
Last week as I was in Tampere I went a bit jewelry crazy as there were sales everywhere!!

The first place I went to was Accessorize. They had three spots on the wall where everything was either -70% or -50% and I got super excited!

multicoloured braceletsmulticoloured bracelets
I was first looking for rings but as nothing in particular caught my eye I went for bracelets and saw this gorgeous colourful set of 12! I think it's great how many different colours and styles the set has since you can mix them with other bracelets and don't always have to use the same ones. The set was -50& and cost me 9,95€.

golden bracelet with bobbles

This golden "Bobble Stretch Bracelet" is something I've already featured in my previous post here. It doesn't look that special on it's own but when you pair it up with other bracelets it looks great on your wrist. I also love the fact that it's stretchy because it's so easy to put on but you still don't have to worry about it falling off. It was -70% and cost me 4,17€

gold and white statement necklace
This golden necklace was also featured in my previous post. I used to buy a lot of silver jewelry but now I've gone a bit gold crazy and when I saw this statement necklace I knew I had to get it! I don't own many huge statement necklaces since I'm not so sure if I can pull them off but this isn't too big. I also love the Egyptian kind of look in it. For a necklace this big it was also really cheap as it was -70% and cost me 5,97€

The second place I popped into was Glitter and when I saw the huge -75% sale wall on the left corner of the shop and it took me everything not to run there!

gold ring with rectangle
I finally found the rings I was looking for! Yay!

I really like this golden one since it's very simple one with a rectangle. Plus it was such a bargain! Only 0,98€! I couldn't just leave it there!

silver rings with snake pattern

These silver rings are also simple with their awesome snake-like pattern. I have many rings with gems on them but I thought that the pattern was a nice different add to them. The set was 2,23€.

long leaf necklace silver
a picture of a long golden necklaceI've been looking for long necklaces so long and finally found two! The golden one is just simply gorgeous and cost me 3,73€.
The silver necklace was the only thing I bought from Glitter that wasn't on sale but it wasn't that expensive at 6,90€ and as I finally found something that I've been looking for and really like I thought I'd just go for it. I love the chain because it's so long and thin and it makes the lovely leaf look even bigger!

When we went to H&M I was actually looking for some trousers and shirt but they didn't have them in my size and then I noticed they had accessories and makeup on sale so I thought I'd have a quick look.

different rings

I found some simple rings, again!
I'm  not so sure what the first one is supposed to be but I like it and it's kind of similar to the rectangle one from Glitter. Next one is a golden ring with a small peace sign (which accidentally is upside-down in the photo, whoops!). The silver one doesn't connect at all and is so cute with the two hearts! The set of 3 was 3€.
When I saw this golden ring on the right I instantly fell in love with the knit-like pattern! I've never seen a ring like that before so I decided to take it. It was also 3€.

I was super happy when I decided to check the necklace side of the shelf also since I've been looking for a necklace like this from December but they've always been out of stock of very expensive! Now that I found it I had to buy it. I also got it for free (it would've been 3€) since they had 3 for the price of 2 on the sale products!

We were already on our way home from Tampere but decided to stop at a supermarket to get some food but I then spotted these beauties! It was a total bargain of the day since I got two necklaces for just 1,5€!

I hope you enjoyed this long first haul of mine!

What I Wore and a Bit Of TFIOS

I thought I'd do a quick post on what I wore yesterday to see The Fault In Our Stars with my best friend Sonja.
As you can tell from my previous post I absolutely love the book, but I think the direction of the movie wasn't as good as I hoped. There was just too many little important parts left out which really disappointed me. I loved how Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort acted as Hazel and Augustus though, since the characters were exactly like I imagined while reading the book and they connected really well.

For my outfit I wore a simple cream lace dress and white canvas sneakers both from H&M, some bracelets from Accessorize and a white vintage leather bag.

June Favourites

The day school ended and June started almost seems like yesterday yet here we are, halfway through July. Yikes! Well as said, time flies when you're having fun right? And while doing just that you need to keep yourself clean and looking good. Here are some of my favourite things I used throughout the month of June to keep myself freshened up and entertained.

My Sweet 16

The Actual Day
A couple of weeks ago at the end of June I joined the magical age, 16.
On my birthday my mom and sister took me to Turku to spend my day at the Medieval Market which is Finland's largest medieval and historical event held every year at the Old Great Square. The idea of the market is that vendors all over Finland - and some abroad - come to sell all kinds of handicrafts at the stalls.
From the various collection of different jewellery, art, ornaments, medieval weapons like bows and arrows, daggers and swords, clothing and delicacies it was hard to choose which pieces you wanted. I decided to go for a beautiful Celtic necklace, two wooden spoons with a funny face and a caramel apple, yum!
We also visited Turku Castle since they had a special Middle Ages Day going on. They had a couple exclusive places open inside the castle where you could only go that day and an archery show which was super exciting!

A New Chapter

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Everyone needs a change in their lives from time to time. Some a few small ones, some a bigger one. For me that would mean starting the blog I've dreamed of for a while.

First a bit about me - I'm Anu, a 16 year old girl from Finland and I've just finished comprehensive school. Fashion and beauty have always been a big part of my life. Having older sisters means that even before I was in school there were multiple teenage fashion magazines open on the table, a makeup bag on the bathroom counter and me sitting in front of a mirror with my oldest sister doing my hair.

As I've always loved writing and everything related to beauty and fashion, about a year ago I thought "Hey, why not write about the things I love so others can enjoy it too?" and now, finally, here I am writing my first blog post. Me being a shopaholic will bring you the pleasure of following the latest trends and styles from my point of view with everything else I enjoy in life in general.

Hopefully you like it!
